Description:	This marvellous apartment is located on Via del Babuino, a short walk from the Spanish Steps, and is situated on the 3^rd floor of a historic Roman building without elevator. The renowned Architecture and Design magazine (AD) recently published an article describing it as follows: If we wanted to compare the work of an interior designer to the work of a painter, we could say that in both cases there are many different styles which artists express in different moments of their lives which are so personal that they become the distinguishing marks of their works. Visiting this Roman apartment near the Spanish Steps, recently renovated and redecorated by the interior designer Olimpia Orsini, it becomes evident that the designer is fully in her “Eighteenth-Century Oriental” stage. “I have always loved the innate elegance, the exquisite luxury of the XVIII century”, she says. “Today I like to re-present it, only filtered, reinterpreted through the originality of the most different and distant worlds. Vague echoes from the East animate the magic and intimate luxury, typical of Olimpia Orsini’s style, who recreated this Roman house from nothing with her favourite colours of white and gold. It all began when a XVIII century boiserie was discovered in Paris: the lacquered cream colour of the old wood now defines the refined atmosphere of the living room, the fulcrum of the new house. Likewise, in the golden Sicilian living room, the little Luigi XVI-style bench and the XVIII century- style appliqués, designed by Ms. Orsini herself, immediately give the environment a “European” touch. The same procedure is used in the area characterized by a light-coloured, Luigi XVI-style marble fireplace, with two gold-coloured bronze imperial lamps and a luxury Bohemian chandelier. The distinctive parts of this apartment are appreciated most in the cosiest areas of the unit. The small entrance, for instance, was conceived as a unique rest area for the guests: framed by two terracotta busts, it opens to a fine piece of antique wooden furniture and a peperino stone dresser, dominated by an early XX century mirror. The master bedroom is a series of hints and suggestions of the Oriental style, with an en-suite hydro-massage Jacuzzi bathtub. One appreciates the Eastern influence on the small terrace as well; here, overlooking the marvellous courtyard fountain, built with iron works and inspired in exotic style, an air of wonder continues. It is comprised by a large living room, two double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a half-bathroom, a master bathroom, and a terrace with table and chairs to eat outside. It features air conditioning throughout, TV, stereo system, computer with internet connection, washing machine and dishwasher.
